Abstract

The relevance of the study is due to the research of the national philosopher, educator Hryhorii Skovoroda and the possibility of introducing his ideas about education and upbringing into the innovative development of modern teacher education. The purpose of the article is to analyze and comprehend the pedagogical heritage of Hryhorii Skovoroda, his universal outlook and innovativeness in shaping the intellectual and spiritual personality of a student. The contribution of scientists in the field of philosophy, pedagogy and psychology to the substantiation of Hryhorii Skovoroda’s ideas and views on education, training and upbringing is analyzed. The author analyzes the use of various tools, methods and techniques by the teacher to influence the student’s personality, develop his or her creative activity and independence using innovative approaches that have not lost their value and relevance in the modern educational process. It is about personality-oriented learning, interactive learning, and the game method used by Hryhorii Skovoroda in his pedagogical activity. The article substantiates Hryhorii Skovoroda’s moral and value-based approach to teaching and upbringing of a personality, which is manifested in the observance of humanistic principles, norms and rules, in the altruistic nature of feelings and experiences, and in the prevalence of socially valuable motives of behavior. The philosopher’s self-knowledge and «kindred work» finds expression in the recognition of the needs and interests of another person, his right to freedom of expression, the ability to spiritual self-improvement, harmony with the world for the formation and realization of oneself as a person. It is recommended to introduce Hryhorii Skovoroda’s pedagogical innovations into modern pedagogical educationcomprehend the pedagogical heritage of Hryhorii Skovoroda, his universal outlook and innovativeness in shaping the intellectual and spiritual personality of a student.
