Ensuring readers’ access to quality materials of the collection

The collection «Scientia et societus» is an open access publication. This means that all its content is in free access for users. By users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of articles in this collection without first requesting permission from the publisher or author. This is in line with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition. The copyright to the printed materials remains with the authors. The author is fully responsible for the content of the published article and the accuracy of the results presented in it.

 

Orientation on covering a wide range of issues of society’s influence on the natural sciences

The purpose of the collection is to facilitate the publication of research results of both leading scientists and graduate students, doctoral students and applicants for scientific degrees and academic titles. Disclosure of this goal provides coordination of basic scientific research of specialists and promotes their actualization. The collection publishes the results of scientific research (scientific articles), review articles, discussion materials, reviews from various fields of natural sciences, dedications to anniversaries, obituaries, announcements of scientific events and more.

Support for constant publication activity

The priority of the collection is to ensure stable regularity of new issues (published twice a year).

 

Encouraging the printing of quality publications and supporting the model of exemplary scientific ethics in publications

The collection supports the basic ethical requirements for scientific publications of the Committee on Ethics in Publications (COPE). These requirements establish the basic norms of behavior and responsibilities of members of any professional scientific community in relation to each other and to the public. They also ensure the right of every author to intellectual property. All persons involved in the publishing process (editors, authors and reviewers) should be guided by the principles of ethics in scientific publications. The editorial board and reviewers of the collection «Scientia et societus» without prejudice review all manuscripts submitted for publication, evaluating each properly, regardless of race, religion, nationality, and place of work of the author.

 

Ensuring the quality of printed articles by an effective apparatus for their review and selection

The rules of preparation of articles for publication give the opportunity to print articles to any scientist in case of their compliance with the requirements for the quality of materials. Only relevant articles that contain elements of scientific novelty and have practical significance are accepted for publication. The purpose of the control procedure of the articles accepted for publication is: to ensure compliance of the materials with the requirements of the scientific style of presentation; encouraging a more responsible attitude of the authors of the publication to the novelty of the presented materials and the objectivity of citations; achieving a high level of relevance of printed materials for the native and world scientific community.

 

Orientation of the authors’ interaction with the editorial board on improving the quality of articles submitted for publication

The peer review process involves working with the journal’s internal experts, who are recognized experts in the field of knowledge relevant to the article. For this, the Editorial Board cooperates with a wide range of scientists. The article is accepted for publication only after its discussion at a meeting of the Editorial Board of the collection in the presence of a positive expert review and support of the majority of members of the Editorial Board who are experts in the same field of knowledge as the author. The fully prepared number of the collection is considered and recommended by the decision of the Academic Council of University Hryhoriy Skovoroda  in Pereiaslav. In case of argumentative refusal, the review and the decision of the Editorial Board are provided to the authors in writing, which gives him the opportunity to finalize the article or replace it with other material.

 

Combating biased citation

When accepting materials for consideration, specialized software products are used, which determine the percentage of uniqueness of the author’s text. Their results will be presented at a meeting of the editorial board when determining the possibility of accepting the article for publication.

 

Priority of introducing articles into the world information space

The collection publishes articles in Ukrainian and English (at the author's choice), not intended for publication in other publications. In order to ensure access of the scientific community to the works of authors, the texts of articles are posted on the website of the publication and work is underway to include them in bibliographic and abstract databases.
