UKRAINE AND THE WORLD IN 2022: COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS USING INTERNATIONAL RANKING METHODS

The article attempts to determine the place of Ukraine in the world, Europe, and the post-Soviet space using the most famous indicators of international rating evaluation based on published ratings developed and made public by reputable global companies and organizations that have positively proven themselves at the international level. Attention is focused on the fact that the demand for world ratings is related to the need for a clearer idea of the rated countries about the general trends of world development, they allow countries (for example, Ukraine) to look at themselves «from the side», to determine their own place in a single world scale, to diagnose problems, which are analyzed by world experts, develop a strategy for responding to them, predict further effective actions. The research methodology is based on the principles of systematicity, scientificity, author’s objectivity, and on the use of general scientific (methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, comparative), interdisciplinary (methods of statistical, contextual analysis), historical (retrospective (historicalgenetic), problem-chronological) methods. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the fact that, based on the involvement of materials from open sources, the position of Ukraine in international rankings was determined, and its place in the world, European, and post-Soviet coordinate systems in 2022 was clarified. It was established that it was difficult to rate the Ukrainian society even before the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war because it was in a contradictory state, in which the old and the new, the original and the borrowed, authoritarian, ochlocratic and democratic were blended. It is predicted that the process of equalizing Ukraine with European countries in terms of quality, excluding the latest characteristics of the domestic armed forces, will be extremely difficult, intellectually, resourcefully, and financially costly in the near future.
